Sherman and Veritas Tackle Week 1 of the 2022 NFL Season
In the premiere episode of The Richard Sherman Podcast, the legendary cornerback and Super Bowl champion breaks down the first week of the 2022 NFL season with co-host and former NFL safety, Chris Long. Sherman and Long discuss the Seahawks' impressive win over the Broncos, the Cowboys' dominant performance against the Buccaneers, and the surprising upset of the defending champion Rams by the Bills.
Seahawks Soar in Russell Wilson's Absence
Despite losing quarterback Russell Wilson to the Broncos in the offseason, the Seahawks looked impressive in their season-opening win over the Broncos. Drew Lock, acquired from Denver in the Wilson trade, played well in his Seahawks debut, throwing for 171 yards and a touchdown. The Seahawks' defense also played well, forcing two turnovers and sacking Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson four times.
Cowboys Crush Buccaneers in Dak Prescott's Return
The Cowboys looked like a Super Bowl contender in their season-opening win over the Buccaneers. Dak Prescott, returning from a season-ending ankle injury, threw for 403 yards and three touchdowns. The Cowboys' defense also played well, holding the Buccaneers to just 19 points.
Bills Upset Rams in Season-Opening Thriller
The Bills upset the defending champion Rams in a thrilling season-opening game. Josh Allen threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns, while the Bills' defense forced four turnovers. The Rams were led by Cooper Kupp, who caught 13 passes for 128 yards and a touchdown.
Exclusive Interview with Clifton Smith
In this episode, Sherman and Long also sit down for an exclusive interview with Clifton Smith, the Seahawks' Director of Player Engagement. Smith discusses his role with the Seahawks, the team's offseason moves, and the team's expectations for the 2022 season.
